PING PONG. Reflecting about Reflections, 2017

The exhibition plays with the double meaning of the English term "reflection", referring to the physical and to the mental realm.
The physical aspect, the turning back of waves - like light, sound or heat - if encountering a surface, follows a very simple law (angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection). Despite the simplicity of the law its consequences can be rather astonishing, surprising and beautiful.
As in the mental domain reflection connotes thinking, reflection about reflections is also a study of how we think.
Within PING PONG the physical and the mental realm are combined, physical phenomena are transferred into a poetic language facilitating intuitive understanding.
